I have been through so much in my life that it would be impossible to say it all in a few short paragraphs, but I will try to keep it simple. My name is Sebastian Maselli, I have a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media Production from California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) and minors in: Communication, Video/Film Production, and Geography. I am a lucky husband, a proud father, and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. I was born in Caracas, Venezuela and moved to Miami, Florida at the age of seven and grew up there with my mom, sisters, and Peruvian step-father.
My interest in film and video production began at an early age, I started learning about TV production in 8th grade at McMillan Middle School and I continued with four years of TV production classes at Miami Sunset High School. I joined the U.S. Marines in August of 2000 and served on active duty for seven years. I deployed to Iraq in 2003 and when I returned home I decided to pursue an education.
In the (not so distant) past, I have been involved in directing, producing, filming, and editing several documentary films. One of them is called Blood We Shed, which is a short documentary about three Marines who were wounded in combat; I am honored to know these gentlemen and truly thankful that they shared their stories in this film. It won for “Best Documentary” and “Audience Choice” at the 2010 CSUSM Media Arts Festival. It was also officially selected and screened at the 2011 G.I. Film Festival in Washington DC.
I currently live in Oceanside, CA and I work as a freelance videographer, editor, producer, and graphic artist on various projects. You can reach me at sebastian.maselli@gmail.com.
